McCain Adviser: Obama’s Trip to Afghanistan and Iraq ‘Terrific’

When asked by a reporter for her thoughts on Sen. Barack Obama’s announcementtoday that he would visit Iraq and Afghanistan before Election Day, Sen. John McCain adviser Carly Fiorina said it was "terrific."
“„"It’s a very good thing that Barack Obama has decided that he will visit the reality on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hopefully, he will be moved by the facts on the ground. He will have to acknowledge that the surge is working, and perhaps that will cause him to change his position, which so far has been, ‘The surge has failed, we are losing and we need to withdraw precipitously.’"
She continued by praising McCain for proposing the surge even though it was Fiorina declined to comment on whether Obama’s decision was the result of McCain’s offerto travel with him to Iraq earlier this month
