Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine have both voted ‘no’ on the DISCLOSE Act, officially killing all speculation that they might buck their party and vote for the campaign finance bill that reformers hoped might tugat their heartstrings.
Without them, there’s no chance of reaching the 60 votes necessary to overcome a Republican filibuster.
