Once the holiday season is out of the way, Arizona residents and fans of monster trucks from all across the country will start looking forward to the monster truck season as the annual Monster Jam comes to Phoenix in April.
With dirt-track racing, stunt competitions, the opportunity to see trucks up close, and much more, it is no wonder that people in Arizona are looking forward to the event.
Next year’s Monster Jam is due to take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The action kicks off at 7:00 pm on April 15.
If you want to meet your favorite drivers and crews and get their autographs and take photos, head to the Monster Jam Pit Party area.
The Pit Party also features plenty of fun activities, like inflatable slides and a remote-control truck course.
But the main reason you will want to head to this area of the Monster Jam event is that you can see the 12,000-pound monster trucksup close. Approximately one hour before the main events start, you can head to Monster Jam Trackside to listen to driver interviews, take a sneak peek behind the scenes with the pit crews, get hold of some giveaways, preview the competition, and watch the opening ceremony.
There is no better way to get ready for all the upcoming action.
With all the preliminaries out of the way, it will be time to watch the competitions.
In addition to the main competition, in which drivers advance until only two trucks remain, with the finals determining the champion, you can catch:
- The Skills Challenge, in which drivers have opportunities to perform the best stunts.
- The Donut Competition, in which divers rotate their trucks as many times as possible and as quickly as possible.
- The Freestyle Competition, in which drivers perform freestyle stunts and tricks.
Monster trucks are incredibly heavy and powerful, and with all the racing and stunts going on, it is natural that spectators will be concerned about the drivers’ safety.
But in fact, Monster Jam trucks are very well designed in order to protect the drivers at all times. That includes a built-in roll cage that is specially constructed.
Furthermore, all drivers are equipped with the appropriate safety gear, such as fire-resistant driving suits, fire-resistant helmets that meet Snell Foundation regulations, and an approved harness system.
Also, drivers’ hands are protected by wearing flame-resistant gloves and their feet are kept safe by wearing special fire-resistant shoes. It is not only important that drivers stay safe. It is also important that everyone in attendance stays safe. Monster truck shows can potentially be dangerous, so make sure you exercise caution around monster trucks as much as you would trucks of any size at any time.
For instance, when driving on roads, you should be extra cautious when driving behind, in front of, or alongside trucks, as trucks can cause much more serious accidents and injuries than other vehicles.
But if you are involved in a truck accident that is not your fault, make sure you hire an experienced truck accident attorney to gain skilled legal representationin order to claim the compensation you deserve. There may be a few months to go, but you do not want to miss out on getting tickets for Monster Jam in April. And once you have your tickets, you can start to get really excited about monster truck season in Arizona.
