Claudia Haro Attempted Murder Of Her Husband
Two weeks after the child custody lawsuit ended in May of 2000, on May 20th, Garrett Warren received a knock at his door. After hearing his doorbell chime six times, he decided to check it out. A visitor who had just knocked on his door inquired about the crowded automobile outside. Warren said it definitely was his automobile. Following this, he was shot four times in the face, chest, neck, hip, and right eye.
After hearing the gunfire, Warren's mom sprinted to the front door. The assailant took two rounds at her, just missing her head each times, and then fled. Thankfully, Warren got care at Northridge Hospital Medical Center and made a full recovery. On the evening of the assault, Claudia was interviewed by detectives. She flat-out lied about her participation and provided a plausible alibi.
After a fruitful start, the research lost steam and fizzled out for two years. Then, on March 14th, 2002, Miguel Quiroz, a narcotics dealer, was apprehended by the San Bernardino Police Department. Miguel's vehicle was searched by the police and they found an envelope with photos of Warren and instructions to his home.
Warren was able to pick out Quiroz from a live and picture six-pack. Quiroz was taken into custody and later charged with attempted murder. However, Quiroz had an alibi for the night of the shooting, proving that Warren had made an error in his pick.
After the original gunshot, Quiroz managed to escape, but it later emerged that he had been paid to kill Warren Garrett. He eventually revealed that the shooter's identity was Jorge Hernandez.
Manuel Haro, Claudia's brother, became involved as the inquiry progressed. After his sister asked him to murder her ex-husband in February of 2000, he was shown to have had a key role in the plot's development. Claudia was given a sentence of 12 years and 4 months in jail by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge in April 2012, 12 years after the incident.
