Elon Musk bans unlabeled parody accounts on Twitteror any impersonation without clearly specifying they are a parody and will therefore be permanently suspended. Twitter had previously issued a warning before suspending accounts, but he announced that there would now be no warning.
Elon Musk has changed the social platform as we know it in less than a fortnight of ownership, and he is not letting anyone stand in his way. As you read this article, you will learn more about it.

Elon Musk Bans Unlabeled Parody Accounts

Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without specifying 'parody' will be banned: Musk

On top of job cuts, one of his most contentious moves has been to charge verified users $US8 to keep their blue check and open the option up to anyone, not just public figures and companies.
In an act of protest, some verified users changed their names on the platform to Elon Musk, but the real Musk quickly shut them down.
Kathy Griffin, an American actress, was among the first to appear on the list. The comedian, who has 2 million followers, tweeted in Musk's name until she was suspended on Monday, November 7, 2022.
Musk announced on Twitter that all accounts that engage in impersonation without indicating that they are a parody would be permanently suspended.
Previously, we issued a warning before the suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up for Twitter Blue. Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of the verified checkmark- Elon Musk
Musk tweeted "comedy is now legal" on Twitter the day after he bought the platform, but in the days since, accounts impersonating Musk have cropped up across the site, riffing on the new owner and getting banned in the process.
He went on to say, "Widespread verification will democratize journalism and empower the voice of the people." Musk wasn't afraid to put the slipper on as word of Griffin's suspension spread, joking that she was banned for "impersonating a comedian."

Celebrities Call Out Musk

After Elon Musk's online spat with New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, hulk actor Mark Ruffalo tweeted that the tech mogul was "destroying (his) credibility."
"Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that 'free speech is actually an $8/month subscription plan," AOC wrote last week.
The following day, AOC accused Musk of blocking her account after she said something with which he disagreed, noting that "doesn't seem very free speech to me."
Actor-activist Ruffalo then retweeted AOC, writing: “Elon. Please for the love of decency, get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX.
“You are destroying your credibility. It’s just not a good look.” Musk snidely responded, “Hot take: not everything AOC says is accurate.” Mark Ruffalo replied,
Maybe so. That’s why having robust filters for dis/misinformation & credible verified users have been a popular feature for people & advertisers alike. We need those safeguards to make sure it’s accurate information, or the app loses credibility, as do you. And people leave- Mark Ruffalo

Twitter Verification Changes

Following that challenge, Musk implemented steep headcount cuts at Twitter, laying off approximately 3,700 people across departments, including content moderation and other trust and safety experts. He is particularly interested in redesigning the platform's subscription product and verification system.
Verification in the form of a blue check was previously reserved for public figures such as politicians and celebrities who were vulnerable to impersonation by bad actors. Musk now intends to make a verification mark available to anyone who subscribes to Twitter Blue for $7.99 per month.
Those who believe that the verification changes will make it more difficult for Twitter users to find good information and authentic accounts have reacted with mockery and mimicry.

Conclusion

Elon Musk bans unlabeled parody accounts on Twitter as a new take after buying the aforementioned social media platform. Musk has described himself as a "free speech absolutist," with plans to turn Twitter into a digital town square where all constitutionally protected speech is permitted. Mr. Musk has insisted that the company's stance on hazardous materials is "absolutely unchanged."
