Elon Musk and Grimes have welcomed their second child, Elon Musk's baby number 7 named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
Elon Musk expressed his concern for a future where "there are not enough people" in a December 2021 interview with The Wall Street Journal, stating that he believed "civilization might implode" as a result. His response? Inspire individuals to have more children!
To be fair, Musk is a true believer in what he preaches. According to Vanity Fair, the 50-year-old billionaire quietly welcomed his second kid with Grimes in December 2021, despite the Tesla entrepreneur's proclamation of their break-up just three months earlier.
Grimes tweeted on March 11 that the pair had split up again, although she continued to refer to him as her "best friend and the love of my life." Does this imply the couple is still on track to achieve their goal of having "at least three or four children" together? Who knows at this stage?
However, while we anticipate the birth of a third Grimes-Musk child, let's take a look at the complete Musk family to date.

Exa Dark Sideræl Musk

Elon Musk and Grimes are apparently no longer together following the birth of a daughter in December 2021.
Exa, Musk's newborn child, is Musk's first daughter. She was born via surrogate in December 2021 and is also known as "Y" inside the family, since her older brother, X A-12, is also known as "X".
According to Grimes, the word "Exa" refers to the term "ExaFlops," which refers to the "capacity to perform one quintillion floating-point operations per second." Meanwhile, Dark embodies "the wondrous mystery of the world," Grimes explained, while Sideræl is simply another way of expressing "sidereal," which refers to the "actual time of the cosmos, star time, deep space time," and "not our relative Earth time."

X Æ A-12

"X" became an immediate superstar upon his birth on May 4, 2020 (Star Wars Day). Not only as Grimes and Musk's first child following a two-year romance, but also for his very unique name. Pronounced "X Ash A Twelve," it refers to X as the unknown variable and to Grimes' elven spelling of AI (love in a variety of East Asian languages and/or artificial intelligence) — they hope you're keeping track. Meanwhile, the A-12 part appears to relate to "Archangel 12," a CIA program that resulted in the development of the SR-71 aircraft, the couple's preferred aircraft, she said in a tweet at the time.
Despite the couple's semi-separation in September, they were still living together and co-parenting X. The world's wealthiest man, like any father, also fed and changed X's diapers.
"Well, infants are nothing more than eating and pooping machines, you know? At the moment, there is little I can do. When the child is older, I will have a larger role," he told The New York Times.
However, despite his youth, Musk appears to be laying the groundwork for X to become Tesla and SpaceX's future CEO by allowing him to "attend" a business meeting (from his father's lap) while Musk discussed rockets, as reported in The Independent, and even accompanying him on press tours (such as the on-screen interview with Time's editor in chief for Person of the Year).

Twins Xavier And Griffin And Triplets Damian, Saxon, And Kai

Musk welcomed his first son, Nevada, in 2002, following his marriage to Canadian writer Justine Wilson. Unfortunately, the boy died ten weeks later from sudden infant death syndrome, leaving the couple distraught.
Wilson became pregnant with twins Griffin and Xavier in April 2004 and then with triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian in January 2006. Since the couple divorced in 2008, custody of all five boys has been divided between them.
Musk was married twice to actress Talulah Riley, in 2010 and 2013, but the couple did not have children together.
"Our five children share custody equally. I spend nearly all of my non-work waking hours with my boys, who are the love of my life," he told Business Insider in 2010.

The Bottom Line

Apart from taking kids to Disney World and camping, he frequently travels with them, as he revealed in an interview with The New York Times. "For example, if I have a Tesla trip to China, I'll bring the kids and we'll see the Great Wall or ride the bullet train from Beijing to Xian to see the Terracotta Warriors."
Musk has even built a school for kids called Ad Astra, which translates as "to the stars." According to The Washington Post, the school was founded in 2014 for males and children of other SpaceX employees since the entrepreneur opposed traditional education. Concentrating on the development of children's abilities, it avoids assigning grades and includes subjects such as robotics, nuclear politics, and artificial intelligence. No languages are being taught at Ad Astra, as Musk believes that computer-assisted language translation will become widely available in the near future.
