If you're still freaking out about *NSYNC's surprise return at the 2023 MTV VMAs and the news that they recorded a new song for the Trolls Band Together threequel, Joey Fatone, a member of the group, has some advice for you: keep beating that drum. Fatone was one of a number of *NSYNC members who were out and about over the weekend dropping hints that the one-off getback might be extended. Fatone shared during a panel discussion at the ’90s Con in Florida on Sunday according to People:
We’re excited for *NSYNC to come out with a song. Which is crazy to say after 25 years. And no, I don’t know if there is a tour!- Joey Fatone
At the moment, there has been no official talk of a tour or any other *NSYNC activities. However, Fatone told fans that if they want to see Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Lance Bass keep the good times going, they should contact the group's old record label.
If the fans want it that much yell at the companies, yell at Sony, yell at RCA, yell at them to say that they need an *NSYNC album.- Joey Fatone
During the panel, Fatone was asked about the awards show, where he, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Justin Timberlake all took the stage and gave Taylor Swift the award for Best Pop Video. Fatone was amazed and said:
It was fun!MTV Awards was really cool. It was fun for me and the guys to get back together. It was surreal, in the sense of we kind of just stepped back from each other. Literally, we fell into place.- Joey Fatone
The return and Fatone's appearance at '90s Con Florida happen at the same time that *NSYNC's first new song in over 20 years, "Better Place," is about to come out. The song will be in the new animated movie Trolls Band Together.
We're excited for *NSYNC to come out with a song. It's crazy to say that after 25 years. No, I'm not sure if there's a tour.- Joey Fatone
He also said that Timberlake's long-awaited new record would be coming out soon and that fans might see more new *NSYNC music after that.
Obviously Justin's coming out with his album, so he's probably going to be doing a tour, I'm sure he's doing that. Then hopefully, cross our fingers - I can't promise - but hopefully we do something together.- Joey Fatone
Fatone's appearance at '90s Con Florida comes just a few days after Timberlake posted a video of him hanging out with his bandmates and recording a new song for the Trolls Band Together album while doing nothing special.
