The 61-year-old actress is getting a lot of attention on the internet this week because Meg Ryan made a public appearance. This is a tired and sad trend in Hollywood when it comes to women over 50.
On May 4, the actor from "When Harry Met Sally" made a rare public appearance at the star-studded event. He posed for a picture with Fox, Denis Leary, Katie Couric, Bill Murray, and Joan Jett, among others. Mariska Hargitay, Debra Messing, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Matthew Broderick were also there.

On Thursday night, Meg Ryan made a rare public showing to support Michael J. Fox's new Apple TV+ documentary. Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie was shown at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York City as part of a special event.
There, she was photographed with Fox, 61, and his wife, Tracy Pollan, 62, as the three of them celebrated the upcoming release of the film, which tells the story of how Fox went from being a small Canadian boy to one of Hollywood's biggest stars in the 1980s to then fighting Parkinson's disease.
After the showing, the 61-year-old was happy to take pictures with Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan. He also talked to other guests, like musician Elvis Costello and actor Denis Leary. Unfortunately, people on social media reacted quickly and harshly, with many saying that she had plastic surgery or other cosmetic changes.
"Hopefully, women will learn from this," one person wrote. "Plastic Surgery is for Frankenstein." Even though some people defended Ryan, The New York Post and other news outlets were quick to add to the criticism by saying that the actor was "unrecognizable."
Ryan was last seen in public six months ago when she was enjoying her 61st birthday in New York. Ryan, Joan Jett, Debra Messing, Denis Leary, Bill Murray, Mariska Hargitay, Katie Couric, and Elvis Costello were among the famous people who came out on Wednesday to support Fox's new documentary film, Still.
The Apple TV+ documentary looks at Fox's life after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at age 29, when his playing career was at its peak. The 61-year-old Back to the Future actor kept his fight with the degenerative brain disorder from the public for almost a decade.
Ryan is best known for her leading parts in classic romantic comedies from the 1980s and 1990s, like Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and City of Angels. Since then, she has moved away from the public eye. She just started making her own movies and acting in them.
In the 2015 movie Ithaca, which starred Tom Hanks and Jack Quaid, it was her first time directing. But the movie set in the 1940s got bad reviews and was never shown in many theaters.
Ryan just finished making her second movie, a romantic comedy called What Happens Later, which she co-wrote and plays with David Duchovny (The X Files, Californication). The Bleecker Street movie is set to come out later this year. It will be "evolved and nostalgic," which means that it will bring back memories.
Ryan hasn't said anything about the latest comments, but in 2015, she told Porter magazine that she doesn't "pay a lot of attention" to this kind of talk. Ryan might get the last laugh, though, because the Golden Globe nominee looks like he's about to make a return in Hollywood. Last week, it was reported that she would direct and star with David Duchovny in "What Happens Later," a romantic comedy that is "evolved and nostalgic"

Conclusion

This week, Meg Ryan made a public appearance in New York with her longtime friend and fellow popular actor Michael J. Fox. After the showing, the 61-year-old was happy to take pictures with Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan. He also talked to other guests, like musician Elvis Costello and actor Denis Leary.
