Pillman began working for the WWF in 1996. In the same year, Pillman was in a car accident that caused him to break his ankle and dislocate his jaw. Unfortunately, the athlete reportedly began abusing painkillers and excessively using cocaine and alcohol.
Brian also used Human Growth Hormone pills to keep his body in shape. Pillman's health deteriorated, and he died in a Bloomington hotel room in October 1997.
The cause of death, according to the medical report, was coronary artery disease. He was survived by his wife, Melanie, and six children. Brian was 35 years old when he passed away.
