There are no bombshells in the Sussexes' Netflix series, however, Buckingham Palace cannot relax just yet.
The new documentary series that Netflix is airing about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was billed by the streaming service as a "global event." Now that the first three episodes are available, the question is whether or not the series lives up to the hype.

The Series
The first episode of the show was directed by Liz Garbus, and it began with a video diary that was filmed by Prince Harry on his cell phone in March of 2020. Right after the couple's last engagement as working royals, he addresses the camera and says, "No one knows the full truth, we know the full truth, the institution knows the full truth, and the media knows the full truth."
That one sentence encapsulated everything that was covered in the first batch of episodes. Both of them have frequently expressed that they feel they are misunderstood and misrepresented.
Now, they are offering their perspectives in an unfiltered and direct manner. Fans will enjoy learning about the early days of the couple's courtship because it is a fascinating look into the couple, and it comes complete with private photographs that capture deeply personal milestones in their relationship.
In these episodes, not only do we learn about the prince's childhood, but we also get an inside look at the pervasive nature of the tabloid media in Britain. Meghan gets her first taste of the structure and obligations of royal life. Harry made the comparison between Meghan's experience and the one his mother, Diana, went through as well as his family's reaction to his anxious feelings.

“„As far as a lot of the family were concerned, everything that she was being put through, they had been put through as well. So, it was almost like a rite of passage. My wife had to go through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be protected?- The duke
Harry also recalled explaining that:

The conclusion of the series does not provide any shocking new information or major revelations. Instead, the couple has taken a strategic approach to charting their relationship and the challenges they face, going back to the problems they had with the institution and developing those problems further.
During the course of explaining the workings of the monarchy and the institution's setup of multiple palaces, the couple also doubled down on statements made in their now-famous interview with Oprah, in which they claimed that they were unsupported and isolated. Friends and other people who are close to the couple provided commentary to support the couple's recollections.
To this point, the couple has begun by going all the way back to the beginning in order to create their own record of their departure as senior royals and document what they consider to be the experiences they had during this time. This leads one to believe that the second part might discuss how they responded and why.
There were very few instances in which individual members of "The Firm" were directly addressed; more often than not, they were merely alluded to. As a consequence of this, there was not a significant amount for Buckingham Palace to respond to; however, we did get the impression that the royal household was shaken up by the publication.
The documentary series stated in the opening slate of the first episode that members of the "Royal Family declined to comment on the content" contained within the series. The press had been informed in the beginning by Buckingham Palace that it was not going to comment on the program.
However, by Thursday afternoon, it appeared that different royal households were reacting to the documentary series in a variety of ways. The first palace told the reporters that no member of the clan had been approached, while the second palace stated that they had received some communication from a production company, but they were unable to verify who was on the other end of the email.
Final Words
The first few episodes give the impression that it is setting the stage for next week's fireworks. Especially since one of the trailers made a major claim that the palace was planting stories against the Sussexes in the press. That wasn't addressed in Netflix's first volume, so any surprises the palace is expecting may still be on the way.
