Edward Thomas Hardy, the sole child of author Edward Hardy and Irish painter Anne, was born on September 15, 1977, in Hammersmith, London. Before deciding to study acting at Richmond Drama School, he attended Tower House School, Reed's School, and Duff Miller Sixth Form College.
