Non-profit and managed entirely by volunteers, the Washington Independent Review of Books publishes book reviews online. In addition to reviews and features, they also provide author Q&As on a daily basis. More than four hundred book reviews from more than 100 publishers were uploaded in the site's first year.
Founded by volunteers, the Washington Independent Review of Books administers a website for book reviews. It was started by a group of DC-area authors. Eighteen volunteers and over forty editors run the website, which receives sixteen thousand page views a month and nearly forty-one thousand unique visitors.
It also includes a literary calendar for the Washington D.C. region, a podcast series, and Grace Cavallieri's occasional poetry section. There aren't many book reviews in the traditional media anymore.

They also, and more importantly, give a critical review of the content. Here, they talk about how the work you're reviewing made you think, how it worked or didn't work, and how it changed your understanding of the issues at hand. Finally, they look at the work and think about whether or not the audience would like it.
