The event was full of famous people, and Chalamet and Grant were the first ones to walk the red carpet. Grant wore a standard tuxedo, and Chalamet looked sharp in a pink velvet suit. There were also Colman, Key, Hawkins, Atkinson, and Lane there.
'Wonka' World Premiere In London
For the world premiere of Warner Bros.' musical Wonka on Tuesday, London's Royal Festival Hall was turned into a holiday version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
At the event, Timothée Chalamet, who plays Willy Wonka, signed autographs and posed for selfies on a red carpet adorned with huge cotton candy clouds and jars of sweets for more than an hour. Hugh Grant, Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, and newbie Calah Lane were all there with him.
The movie comes before Roald Dahl's famous book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It shows how Willy Wonka got started and how he came to make his amazing chocolate factory. The director, who wrote the script with Simon Farnaby, who worked with him on Paddington, Paul King said:

Warner Bros. threw a special party at the Tate Modern museum after the screening as well. The film's cast and team, as well as other famous people and VIPs, went to the party.
Fans and critics were confused when they saw the trailer for Willy Wonka for the first time. A prequel movie about a young Willy Wonka (played by Timothée Chalamet of Manic Pixie Dream Boy) seemed like a mix of an interesting look at how bad guys got their start and yet another shady attempt to make money off of existing ideas.

But Wonka's secret tool is without a doubt Paul King, who directed and co-wrote the movie. King wrote and directed Paddington and Paddington 2, two of the best-reviewed and most-loved family movies of the 2010s.
The movie is 18 years after Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, in which Depp played the lead part. It is also made by Warner Bros., who later bought the rights to the character in 2016.
A lot of Wonka was filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, which is just outside of London. Other scenes were filmed in Oxford and Bath, among other places in the UK.
Wonka will come out on December 8 in the UK and on December 15 in the US.
