The Los Conchas wildifre has burned 43,000 acres since Sunday, forcing residents of Los Alamos to evacuate Monday, reports the Los Alamos Monitor: County officials issued a mandatory evacuation for Los Alamos Town Site and residents left Monday afternoon. Shelters open at this time are the Santa Claran Resort Center, Cities of Gold Casino and Pojoaque High School.
