The Carlisle Development Group writes to The Florida Independent today that the company is “taking immediate and aggressive steps to address” allegations by construction workers that they have not received wages for work done on the Northwest Gardens affordable housing project managed by Carlisle. # Early this week, Fort Lauderdale construction workers told the Independent that between 40 and 50 workers have not received their wages for anywhere from three weeks to two months, and are owed between $1,600 and $3,500. The Northwest Gardens project consists of 150 new townhomes and apartments designed for working families. # Ann Briggle — junior account executive at The Jeffrey Group , a marketing and corporate communications firms focused on “Latin consumers, customers, influencers and stakeholders throughout the Americas” — submitted the following statement on behalf of Carlisle: # It has recently come to our attention that a sub-sub-contractor at Northwest Gardens has not fully lived up to the standards we, Carlisle Development and the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Lauderdale, demand

Dennis Ross, R-Lakeland, said in a press release that the federal agency tasked with protecting the environment has “taken the broad authority irresponsibly ceded to them by Congress, and run wild with it.” Ross also said that the agency “must realize that moms and dads cannot afford thousands more in power bills or plummeting home values.” According to his press release, Ross’ conversation with Jackson centered mostly on the federally mandated numeric nutrient criteria and the future of radiation flyovers.
